Graduate Logistics Manager - Manchester, North West Graduate Logistics Manager The Company: We are looking for 2 Graduate Trainees to join our Manchester based Team. Our company was established in 1983 and has an impressive track record in terms of growth and profitability in the B2B sector. This success has been built around past trainees that have been developed into industry professionals and now hold Business Manager and Associate Director Positions. This is an opportunity for Graduates who are looking to be ?grown? into accomplished business operators and where promotion and advancement are based purely on ability, effort and achievement. Graduate Logistics Manager The role: The starting point is that you must be commercially minded with a good understanding of Transport, Logistics and the Supply Chain, and realise that there is no substitute for hard work and commitment to establish your career. The top positions in our business are occupied by people who have helped us to grow the company to ?30m sales per annum. Your training will be a combination of internal and external courses with ongoing coaching and mentoring from Senior Managers and Directors. You will be responsible for sourcing appropriate candidates via adverts, job boards and the Matchmaker database, interviewing appropriate candidates and selecting the most suitable to arrange for interview at client companies. You will also be involved in finding and quantifying commercial opportunities, Building relationships with prospective clients across a wide range of commercial sectors through the use of telephone calls, e-mail and face to face visits. The investigative aspect would involve carrying out internet searches and reading trade magazines, papers and business directories to find prospective companies that may need to utilise temporary and permanent recruitment services. The next phase of your development would be promotion to take principal responsibility for a major client or a portfolio of several clients. This requires an engaging personality, the ability to listen and evaluate and then to deliver effective strategies and solutions that satisfy the needs of both new and existing clients. Success at this level will bring considerable enhancement of your salary, bonus entitlement and fully expensed company car. Our fleet is VW, Audi and BMW. At this stage you may be considered to have the personal attributes to be developed into a Business Manager and take responsibility for the leadership and management of a Team or even the development of a new profit centre or division. For those who prefer business development rather than an operational role there is the opportunity to take on a BDE position or perhaps a 360 Consultant role in one of our specialist divisions. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities in Year 1. Researching: Searches using internet,database, directories and business magazines. Quantifying: Using phone and e-mail. Interviewing: Interviewing both over the phone and face to face to asses candidates Appointment making: With both candidates and clients. Meeting preparation: Assisting with research and presentation material for internal and external meetings.
